Tech AI-Copilot is designed for automotive technicians and processes limited user data only as necessary to provide features requested by the user. This Privacy Policy explains what information the Tech AI-Copilot browser extension processes, how that information is used, where it is stored, and when it is shared with third-party services.

Data We Collect and Process

Tech AI-Copilot does not continuously monitor browsing activity or automatically capture webpage content.

Depending on the feature you choose to use, the extension may process:

Text and diagnostic information you submit: Questions, diagnostic information, symptoms, repair information, and other text you intentionally enter into Tech AI-Copilot.
Vehicle information: Vehicle Identification Numbers (VINs) and vehicle information you intentionally enter or select when using vehicle-specific features.
Screenshots and webpage content: When you explicitly activate a screen capture or snipping feature, Tech AI-Copilot may process the portion of the webpage or screen you choose to capture.
Locally stored chat history and preferences: Chat history and certain extension settings may be stored locally in your browser so they remain available to you.

Tech AI-Copilot does not continuously collect browsing history or monitor webpages in the background.

How We Use Data

Information submitted through Tech AI-Copilot is used only to provide the feature requested by the user.

For example:

Submitted questions and diagnostic information are processed to generate AI-assisted responses.
VINs are processed to decode vehicle information and provide vehicle-specific functionality.
User-initiated screenshots or webpage captures are processed to extract relevant information and provide the requested analysis.
Locally stored chat history is used to allow the user to access previous conversations within the extension.

Tech AI-Copilot does not sell user data or use user-submitted content for advertising or behavioral profiling.

Data Storage and Retention

Chat history is stored locally within the user's browser or device. Tech AI-Copilot does not maintain a server-side database of users' chat histories.

User-submitted screenshots and captured webpage content are processed for the requested operation and are not maintained by Tech AI-Copilot as a permanent screenshot or capture library.

VINs submitted for vehicle decoding are not maintained by Tech AI-Copilot as a VIN database.

Information may be transmitted through Tech AI-Copilot's infrastructure as necessary to complete a user-requested operation. Processing or transmission of information does not mean that Tech AI-Copilot permanently stores that information.

Users can remove locally stored extension data by clearing the extension's data or uninstalling the extension.

Data Sharing and Third-Party Services

Tech AI-Copilot shares data only with service providers when necessary to perform a feature requested by the user.

Depending on the feature used, these services may include:

Google AI services: User-submitted text or other content required to generate an AI-assisted response may be transmitted to Google's AI services for processing.
Google Cloud Vision: When applicable, user-initiated screenshot or image content may be transmitted to Google Cloud Vision for image or text processing.
National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA): VINs may be transmitted to NHTSA's vPIC service for vehicle identification and VIN decoding.
Hosting and infrastructure providers: Requests may pass through infrastructure used to operate Tech AI-Copilot, such as its application hosting services, when necessary to deliver requested functionality.

Tech AI-Copilot does not sell or rent user data to third parties.

Third-party services process information according to their respective privacy and data-handling terms.

Screenshot and Webpage Capture

Tech AI-Copilot includes user-initiated screen capture functionality.

The extension does not continuously record the user's screen or automatically capture webpages in the background. Screen or webpage content is captured only when the user deliberately activates a capture feature.

Captured content is used only to perform the requested Tech AI-Copilot function. Because webpage captures can contain information displayed on the user's screen, users should avoid capturing personal, confidential, or sensitive information that is not necessary for their request.

Security

Data transmitted between Tech AI-Copilot and its service providers is transmitted using encrypted HTTPS connections.

Tech AI-Copilot limits processing of user-submitted information to what is necessary to provide the requested extension functionality.

Website Data

The Tech AI-Copilot marketing website is separate from the browser extension. The website may use basic cookies or traffic measurement technologies necessary to operate and understand use of the website.

Website analytics, if used, are separate from the extension's locally stored chat history and user-initiated diagnostic content.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated when Tech AI-Copilot's features, service providers, or data-handling practices change. The date at the top of this policy indicates when it was last updated.
