Built in the bay, not a boardroom

Carl Marshall

Senior Master Technician & Founder, Tech AI-Copilot

Carl Marshall spent 17 years on the floor as an automotive technician before he started building software. He saw the same problems shop after shop: outdated tools, workloads that never let up, and internal systems that fought technicians instead of helping them. He watched other software try to fix it and fail, for the same reason every time — "none of them were built by someone who actually works in the trenches."

Then COVID-19 sped up a problem the industry was already facing: experienced technicians retired early, and the mentorship pipeline that used to pass down hard-won knowledge started to collapse. That gap is what Tech AI-Copilot was built to close — a way to augment technicians, protect their expertise, and give every tech, from apprentice to master, intelligent support when the person who used to have the answer isn't in the shop anymore.

Carl describes it as "a tool built from the industry, not imposed on it," designed to cut down on the guesswork and searching that cause burnout, not add another system to fight with. He isn't a Silicon Valley founder — he's a Senior Master tech who got tired of waiting for someone else to solve this.
